Hello, I’m Alice, founder of the Cotswold Dyer.
With over sixteen years experience working as a fabric buyer and textile artist in costume for major films and television—including Napoleon, Cruella, House of the Dragon, The Favourite and Aladdin —I've had the privilege of working at the highest level of my craft, collaborating with and learning from some of the most talented artists in the industry.
The Cotswold Dyer was born during my maternity leave, out of a desire to stay rooted in the creative work I love while embracing life as a new mother. Working from my studio allows me to combine the depth of my professional experience with the rhythms of family life.
I’m passionate about natural dyeing and its potential to bring beauty, meaning, and sustainability to textiles. Wherever possible, I use plant-based dyes, drawing on ancient methods to create colours that are both beautiful and environmentally conscious.
I am a member of the society of dyers and BECTU.
